  2. The sports and recreation activities were the greatest cause of glasses-related injuries in children. The injuries mostly include cuts to the face, head or eyeball. It is accounting for about two-thirds of the overall glasses-related injuries. The contusions and abrasions is second, which is accounted for 20 percent of all injuries.
  3. Contact lenses contain harmful deposits that can irritate the eyes and may pose danger to our sense of sight.
  4. Another danger in wearing contact lenses is the presence of bacteria on the lens which will feed off your dead cells deposited on the lenses. The next danger is the restriction of oxygen to your eyes, which is unhealthy in the long term.
  5. Another disadvantage of wearing eyeglasses is that it allows your eyes to get used in working incorrectly. Your eyes will be dependent on the eyeglasses and contact lenses and naturally healing will be hindered.

Eyeglasses and contact lenses can be very convenient to people suffering eyesight and vision problems. However, these types of eyewear can pose dangers and harmful effects to the person. Eyeglasses and contact lenses both have their sets of advantages and disadvantages.
