Motocross Goggles – Selecting the Right Ones Will Make All the Difference

With so many different choices of motorcycle and ATV goggles, how can one decide on which pair to purchase?  Yes, it is true there are many different styles, sizes and types, but picking the right pair should be an easy task.

Selecting a good pair of motocross goggles should not be about finding some cheap motocross goggles and heading straight to the checkout counter or placing them in your online shopping cart.  You should take a good look at what you are purchasing and compare the features and benefits along with the price to determine which pair are best for you.  Some of the different features may include the tinting of the lens, the comfort of the fit and of course the style that you prefer.

The lens is the most important part of a good pair of motocross goggles.  Without a clear lens, it is impossible to see what may be coming up over the next hill, or around the corner.  The lens also is what protects your eyes should a rock come flying at you while you are riding.  The lens of the goggle can come as a standard plastic lens or have some tinting or color that may enhance the clarity of what you are looking at.  Some goggles also have polarized lenses which are fantastic when riding in bright light or when the ground is reflecting light from the sun.  Motocross goggles with polarized lenses are by far the best on the market, but they are not cheap motocross goggles.

The comfort of the goggles is also very important when riding.  If your motocross goggles do not fit snugly to your face or they allow air and dirt in between your face and the frame, you can potentially get dirt in your eyes which is very unsafe.  Also, if the goggles do not have a sweat band or foam that sucks in the sweat from your face, it can cause irritation.

Motocross goggles come in many styles and is generally up to your preference.  The name brand Fox, MSR, SPY, Oakley goggles are not cheap either.  For the most part you are buying the name, however, they also offer great quality for the price.  Do not buy a pair of cheap motocross goggles or you will be buying a new pair much sooner then you want to.

In conclusion, when you are looking at a new pair of motorcycle or ATV goggles, make sure you inspect the quality and the structure instead of just picking up the cheapest pair.  If possible, look for the tinted polarized lenses and you will not be dissatisfied.
