Our eyes are our window to the world. Our eyesight influences the way in which we view the world. Eyesight is something so natural that we take it for granted. However, numerous tests and investigations have shown that many people suffer from deficient visual acuity. They have poor eyesight – without even knowing it. In many cases, they could often significantly improve their vision without any great expense.
Tip #1 – Splash your eyes with cold water
Each morning splash your closed eyes with ice cold water. This will help to clean your eyes. Cold water also stimulates better blood flow to the eye area and helps with wrinkles.
Tip #2 – Blinking under the water
Whenever you feel that your eyes are strained just get some cold water into your palms, place your face into the water and blink under the water. This helps to restore normal tearing production, cleans your eyes and restores perfect blood flow to the eye area.
Tip #3 – Neck Exercises
While inhaling turn your head to the left, hold it this position for 5 seconds, feel the stretch and with the exhale return you head back to look straight ahead. Repeat the same thing for the right side.
While inhaling bend your head to the left shoulder, hold it there for 5 seconds, feel the stretch in the right side of the neck. With the exhale return your head back to look straight ahead.
This little neck gymnastic helps to increase better blood circulation to the head. The better condition of your neck is the better your thinking and visual abilities.
Tip #4 – Eat a healthy Diet
We are what we eat – remember? Make sure that if you suffer from glaucoma and cataract you avoid fast foods, excessive amounts of coffee, white flour, black teas, condiments, sweeteners and red meat. Detoxification diet for 2-3 weeks like juice feasting would be great to clear out your body gently and prepare it for the natural treatment. After cleansing detoxification week make sure to include into your every day diet plenty of green vegetables and colourful fruits. They are rich in antioxidants, A, B, C and D vitamins and minerals that are so important for the eyes. Make sure to drink carrot juice (carrot/spinach juice, beet juice) one a day and a tea spoon of pine nut oil 3 times a day for 1 month.
Tip #5 – Do not stare
Change your habits. Even if you require to work a lot on the computer, try not to stare at the monitor. It did not help anybody so far. Try to remember to blink. Healthy eye blinks every 5-6 seconds without even noticing it. In the beginning try to force yourself to blink and later on it will be your habit.
Tip #6 – Do not use sunglasses
This is the biggest myth of the twentieth century that we need to protect our eyes from harmful sun rays. Even Professors of the Medicine are talking about the fact that sun rays cure breast cancer, skin cancer, bone issues and so on. Just read what are the doctors talking about Vitamin D deficiency and cancer/skin/bones/eyes. I just want to mention that eyes desperately need sun, that the eyes are born to function in the sun. The sun gives your eyes energy the way it gives energy to any green plants living on Earth. But in order to absorb the sun light you need to carefully prepare your eyes for this. Start with eye sunbathing slowly. Close your eyes and turn to the sun with your eyes closed. Move your head from one side to another making the sun swinging in front of your closed eyes. Learn how to do Sun Watching Eye Exercise.
Tip #7 – Never use old make-up
Never use old make-up on your eyes. I have seen some patients suffering form the infections that they got from using out-of-date eye liner and mascara. Make sure to check the expiry date on your eye make-up. Practice caution to always check the condition of your eye make-up.
Tip #8 – Do Eye Exercises or Eye Yoga
These are priceless if you want to restore your eyesight. Make sure that you learn Eye Relaxation Exercises before you start learning any of the Eye Exercises routines. Make sure to learn different types of blinking (light blinking, hard blinking, blinking with the eyes closed), Palming and other Eye Relaxation techniques. They will prepare your eyes for the training, will greatly reduce your eye strain, will help to get rid of even severe dry eye syndrome and may along help to throw your glasses away.
The Palming is one of the ancient Yoga procedures to relax the eyes. Just place your palm on your closed eyes without letting any light to come though your fingers. Observe the darkness in front of you for a few minutes and try to relax your whole face. Make sure to keep your spine erect during this simple exercise.
There are plenty other eye exercises that are meant to stretch and strengthen your eye muscles restoring their perfect condition. They are all very simple and enjoyable to perform. If you choose the right program it will not take you too much time at all. Eye exercises do not need to be performed daily. 4-5 days a week for eye exercises are more than enough.
Tip #9 – Stretch your spine
The spine condition is extremely important for your eyesight. Paul Bragg said that ‘your spine shows how old you are’. The better the condition of your spine the better blood flow is in all of the body organs including your eyes and brain. I would suggest you to include spine and joints stretching exercises into your work-out routine if you have not done so already.
Here are a few simple exercises for your spine.
Raise both of your arms. Raise your right shoulder trying to reach your right. Lower your right shoulder down. Repeat this exercise with the left side.
Turn your head left to the side as much as possible, then continue into twisting with turning your right shoulder to the left. Twist the whole body to the left as much as you can. Hold this position for 5-6 seconds and then slowly release. Repeat the same exercise twisting to the right.
Tip #10 – Get some fresh air
When you work in the office or at home the air conditioned or heated air will dry your eyes even if you do not wear contact lenses. Get outside for the fresh air. It will help you to restore the humidity of your eyes. Try to walk as long as you can during your lunch period to restore your blood circulation.
