Since the age of 10, I’ve always wanted to know how to improve eyesight naturally and get better vision without glasses.
You see, when I was at Grade 4, I already became shortsighted. And any of you who also suffer from myopia know how frustrating it is to have your eyesight worsen month after month, year after year.
This would naturally mean having to change your vision aid, be it eyeglasses or contact lenses.
I’ve already lost count of how many pairs of spectacles I’ve had to change because my shortsightedness worsened. And I wouldn’t even mention the number of issues I’ve had with contact lenses! Imagine how much money has been spent already!
Of course, like most people, I’ve considered the option of going for laser eye surgery, more commonly known as LASIK. Still, going for such a vision correction procedure is usually out of reach for a lot of people due to its high cost. At the same time, no matter how advanced the technology, there is always a slim chance of undesirable side effects, and in the worst case scenario, even blindness!
There’s when I became really interested in how to improve eyesight naturally and get better vision without glasses, and came to realize that there is a way we can restore our 20/20 vision without having to go for laser eye surgery.
Many shortsighted people have discovered that doing a series of proven and tested eye exercises actually go a long way to prevent their eyesight from getting worse, and even improve their vision when they do each eye exercise consistently.
For starters, the age old advice of not looking at anything too close up is golden. Never stay to close to the computer screen or television; this adds unnecessary strain to your eyes and cause the eye muscles to weaken.
When you are doing work with your eyes, whether it’s reading a book or working at the PC, always rest your eyes every 20 minutes. Take your eyes off the book or screen, and look out the window at far away objects. Some say green objects help (like trees!). This gives your eye muscles a chance to rest and relax.
Another common exercise that is good for your vision is know as palming, where you simply cover up your eyes with your warm hands, preventing any light from reaching your eyes. This serves as a form of massage that again relaxes the eye muscles.
These are only a few simple steps to prevent your eyesight from worsening.
