Nowadays sunglasses come in massive range of shapes, styles and colors. With all the available choices, it can sometimes be hard to choose the right sunglasses.
There are a few key factors you should keep in mind when you go pick out your new shades. The main thing to consider is the shape of your face. Your face shape affects the styles of frames and the shape of the lenses that will naturally look good on you. Other things like your skin complexion, eye color, and hair type are all things you should consider when choosing your sunglasses.
Face Shape
Oval Faces: Oval shaped faces are the easiest to work with since they are well balanced. Almost every style of sunglasses that you like will work on an oval shaped face.
Square Face: For people with square faces, oval shaped sunglasses will work well.
Round Face: Look for sunglasses that are at least as wide as the widest part of your face. Additionally, to offset the curves of your face, look at sunglasses with angles.
Oblong face: Round or square shapes will look good on oblong faces. Frames with short horizontal and long vertical lines work too. Decorative or contrasting temples attach width to the face.
Complexion
Pale complexions: Use lightweight frames or those with a touch of color; for instance rose or amber. Tortoiseshell frames suit light complexions too. However people with pale complexions should stay away from clear, blue or green tinged frames since they tend to sap the color from cheeks.
Dark complexions: For people with dark complexions such as olive, Mediterranean, golden or Asian skin with dark hair can look absolutely spectacular in silver, gold or clear frames.
Dark/Black complexions: Every metallic frames suit black skins and amber regularly works well – be extremely cautious with black frames, which can look amazing or terrible!
Hair Type
Soft and Curly Hair: People with soft curly hair look great with delicate shapes, rimless frames and translucent colors.
Very Curly Hair: People with very curly hair are best suited with frames that trail your hairline. Typically small frames work best.
Short Hair: People with short hair should look at geometric frames or rounder frames. Both will look excellent.
Very Short Hair: Look for bold colors and designs. Also do not be afraid to look at different decorative styles.
Long Hair: If you have long hair be sure to look at the sunglasses with your hair up and down. Changing the way you wear your hair can change in style may change the look of the frames
Eye Colour
To help judge eye color issues, it helps if you understand the concept of simultaneous contrast. If you looked at a color on the color wheel your eyes produce the opposite color.
Therefore when you want to make blue eyes look bluer, you look at the opposite side of the color wheel. For example, you could wear burgundy, rust, orange or red frames.
Colors from the red family also to make green eyes look greener.
When dealing with brown eyes, you make them look darker with light colored or pale frames. Brown eyes also tend to look extra golden with purple frames. Brown eyes look enhanced with colors that make a good contrast.
