Anti-Fog Spray For Swim Goggles

A pair of swimming goggles is a very essential gear that is needed when taking a swim whether for recreation or for competition. This equipment should always be present when training & swimming in the ocean. Just be sure to use an anti-fog spray so that you won’t have to worry about cleaning them during use, that way you can concentrate on swimming instead of striving to see.

Swim goggles or diving masks are intended for keeping water, especially salt water, and other irritants away from the eyes during a swim. With this spray, water droplets condensed from your breath will not fog up the lenses, thus, you won’t have trouble seeing fellow contenders in the next lane as well as pace clocks. You can do away with adjusting & wiping off your goggles during a swim session.

Swimming goggles are aerodynamic & sleek, devised for training sessions & races. Closely fitting the face, rubber flanges create a vacuum which forms a watertight seal around your eyes. The treatment should always be applied before going into the water.

There are diving masks and swim goggles that are already made with anti-fog properties but they are more expensive. What’s more is the lens coating that makes it does not last forever. It gets scratched or worn over time so it has to be reapplied every month or so. That means you have to shell out that extra cost per month. In the long run, it is cheaper to buy ordinary swim goggles and a spray. Plus you can use the spray in many other things like in you car’s windshield & windows, in cameras, even on your sunglasses.

Consider a scene during training: you are practicing your intervals and you only have a small number of seconds to rest before pushing off and making a few more laps. Clearing your goggles in order to look at your pace clock will be cumbersome. With a spray, this setback can be done away with. You can focus on your strokes instead. You also can also gauge the speed you are doing because your vision is clear and unclouded.

Just a word of warning, be sure that the anti-fog spray was applied long before you started the swimming session. Otherwise, if the treatment has not yet dried it could be washed off by the water and brought in contact with your eyes. This can harm your eyes causing damage. Make sure that you follow the directions completely.
