Sunglasses get scratched easily when used daily and they don’t look as cool. You have a expensive designer sunglasses? Don’t want to spend fortune on new ones? It’s easier than you think to fix them and you look cool again.
Scratched Glass lenses.
You will need cotton wool and white toothpaste. Put small amount of white toothpaste on cotton wool pad don’t put too much toothpaste on as you can repeat this step over and over again. Start rubbing toothpaste on a scratch in small circles for around15 – 20 seconds, than wipe toothpaste of with clean, soft cloth. After that use damp soft cloth to clean lens gently and leave it to dry. Repeat till scratch is gone. You don’t want to use hard or dirty cloth as it will only add more scratches also don’t use any abrasive cloths.
Scratched Plastic lenses.
First wash your lenses properly in warm soapy water and dry with soft cloth don’t use any paper towels, toilet paper or anything similar as they are very abrasive and will cause more scratches best cloth to use is soft micro-fibre cloth. Get a can of furniture polish if you haven’t got one you can get one from your local store for around 1 dollar.
Spray small amount of furniture polish on lens and rub it in with gentle circular moves. Furniture polish is going to fill scratch or scratches with clear wax so lens scratches won’t be visible anymore. Wipe all the excess wax with soft cloth. Repeat on the other side of lens.
