Perfect vision without glasses may be possible for some people but the better question is: “Will I (me, myself, the person speaking) achieve perfect vision – or even improved vision – or will my efforts be a waste of time and money?”
Who is the best person to answer that question? Yes: YOU.
Why do I say that? It reminds me of the young musician driving around Manhattan looking for Carnegie Hall. He finally rolls down his window and asks someone on the sidewalk “How do I get to Carnegie Hall?” The answer is “Practice, Practice, Practice”. I have to tell you up front – this has a lot to do with you. It is exactly as Woody Allen says: “Eighty percent of success is showing up”.
These days in the information age with the internet, you can find a lot of information on almost any subject. That certainly includes info about improving your vision. To me, (I have not had to wear classes because I did eye exercises when I was 10 years old) the important things in a program to improve your vision are:
1) Is all the information there in one place or do I need to collect it from a bunch of different source/websites?
2) Are all aids, charts (including low vision aids if necessary) and so on in one place and included in whatever I am buying?
3) Is this book or course really zeroing in on me and exactly what I need to do to improve my vision?
4) Or does it include a lot of unnecessary stuff?
5) Does this tell me exactly what to do in plain everyday English or am I supposed to try and decipher what someone said decades ago?
6) Will I DO what it says to do?
Here are some examples of how to use these points in choosing how to improve your eyesight:
In my case, I am old enough to have experienced dropping and stepping on my glasses at the age of 10 then being told by the eye doctor that I could choose to restore my vision by eye exercises. All I had to do was show up at the appointed time and do what he said to do. My parents paid some good money for this service, so they made sure I did not skip my appointments. I would never have done eye exercises on my own because my life was not that disciplined, by a long shot.
That covers points 1-6 above and got the desired result. At one point the eye doctor said my vision had been restored and there was nothing further he could do for me. I have never had to wear glasses since then.
If you or someone you know decided to try doing the few sample exercises given on various websites for free, this could be lacking points 1 (you might need to go to a lot of different sites for various pieces of the puzzle, if you were motivated enough to do so) and point 2 and 3 and probably 4 & 5 and eventually point 6.
Before I started writing this article, I requested through the library system where I live what seemed to be THE best book on the subject, to see if I wanted to buy it or review it It was HUGE and covered tons of unnecessary stuff and did not tell you “do this, this and this”. That violates points 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 above.
