In addition the sphenoid bone, which forms the back of the eye socket and serves as an attachment for most of the extraocular muscles, also rotates forward or backward to aid in the elongation or shortening of the eye ball. This may seem implausible, but living bone has pliability and adaptability. When the bone has to torque to adapt to problems with one eye or both, body wide changes may be produced instantly. Commonly a scoliotic pattern can be instantly produced in real time that will change simply by closing the eyes. Upon opening the eyes, the pattern will reappear. That is how one can tell if vision problems are the culprit. Therefore your vision strains can be causing strains and tension throughout your body including neck pain and back pain.
What About Your Glasses Or Contacts?
Your glasses or contacts may be too strong or too weak meaning light rays converge behind or in front of the back of the eyeball. This causes the extraocular muscles and the sphenoid to strain to adapt to where the light rays are converging. Even if you can see clearly with your prescription, it may be placing a lot of strain in the extraocular muscles and sphenoid bone to adapt to it. It is this strain that causes headaches when your vision is not clear and your prescription is off as well. Laser surgery of the eyes will cause the lights to converge on the back of the eye when it is in its strained state. Therefore, relaxing the strained muscles will not lead to clear vision because the eye has been altered anatomically. It will keep the eyes in a state of constant strain.
